Build Progress
A transformation in progress
From devastation to reimagination
The story of Namena is one of resilience and purpose. Each phase brings us closer to sharing this island with the world again.
2016
Cyclone Winston
The most powerful cyclone in Southern Hemisphere history struck Fiji. Namena Island's structures were destroyed. The island's natural environment began recovering within months.
2018
Vision & Planning
A complete reimagination of the island — not just rebuilding, but designing a world-class sanctuary from the ground up. Cyclone-rated architecture, low-density philosophy, conservation-first approach.
2023
Plans Approved
Final architectural plans approved for 15 beachfront residences, beach clubhouse, pool complex, and upgraded dive facilities. Every structure engineered to withstand 190 mph winds.
2024–25
Construction
Beachfront residences and island infrastructure taking shape. Construction proceeds with minimal environmental disruption, using sustainable methods and locally sourced materials where possible.
